Today’s Future Star, Kevin, is a 16-year-old High School Senior in San Francisco. He has been in the American Mathematics Competition three years in a row and is a nationally ranked and world competitor in fencing.
Kevin’s first trade came when he was 8 years old and his father, an engineer by profession, wanted to interest him in the markets. Kevin had heard the constant beeping of his Dad’s computer. He asked his Dad about the beeping and Kevin’s Dad started teaching him about trading. Kevin bought several shares of GameStop (GME). His first trade of consequence was a little over one year ago and it was a wide Strangle in SPY and has been hooked since.
Kevin trade’s an account owned by his parents, but they are sharing 50% of the profits with him. He is up 30% year to date. He primarily trades stock index ETFs and usually rolls his losers unless he is convinced that he is definitely wrong. Most of his trades are Delta Neutral but directional bias can be part of his trading at times. He has tried Iron Condors, but has found more success in short Strangles. Kevin’s friends are interested in his trading but they don’t have the background he has, with a father interested in the markets. Kevin is making youtube videos to help them and he also recommends tastylive to all.
